Why Robyn Williams?
On School Board Robyn championed efforts to ensure that every child had the opportunity to succeed focusing on narrowing the learning gap. She fought to bring the students back to school after COVID knowing the severe impact it would cause to our kids, not just the learning loss, but also to their mental well-being.
Robyn also fought against continuing the low expectations set forth by MCPS and our surrounding districts which were put into place during COVID to ease the impact of learning outside a classroom setting; No zero policy where 50% is the lowest a student can receive even if assignments are not complete and turned in, and a no-deadline policy through the end of each quarter. Metz and OHS’s data prove that these policies discourage learning. Our students are the future of Manassas City and they deserve better.
Robyn plans to center her efforts on enhancing collaboration between city council and the school board with the understanding that good schools are necessary for our community to be a thriving destination for people to live.
As a real estate professional, she has an understanding of land management, zoning laws, housing, and property development. Her experience allows her to contribute a perspective on urban planning which benefits all of us in the City of Manassas. As a small business owner, there are always challenges to overcome and times when pivoting is crucial to addressing issues. She is ready for the challenge!
With her wealth of experience in both governance and community engagement, Robyn is well-positioned to serve the people of Manassas as a member of the City Council. She approaches challenges with diligence, integrity, and a sincere desire to effect positive change that prioritize- One Community, One Manassas.
