The School Board voted in favor of the proposed resolution, choosing not to enter into collective bargaining agreements. After careful consideration and due diligence, they made a decision they believe is in the best interest of our students and the broader community. It was the right call.

It’s important that the School Board continues to ensure teachers feel heard and respected, even when tough decisions are made. In a district of about 7,700 students, being a teacher comes with constant, often unseen challenges—and it takes all of us working together every day to support our students.

While tensions ran high, I hope teachers can move forward and remember the value and impact of their chosen profession.

I believe that through collaboration between the School Board, administration, and teachers, we can create a positive working environment and a school community where every student has the opportunity to thrive—both personally and academically.
